# Delete an organization

> Deleting organizations can be useful when merging accounts or simplifying your dashboard. Deletion is a manual process that must be requested by the organization owner. Before deleting an organization, you must deactivate or transfer all SIMs and pay any negative balance.

  **Important:** Hologram can only delete an organization in which all SIMs are either deactivated or transferred, and that the organization's balance is \$0. ## Requirements before deleting an organization

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check if you are the owner of the organization">
    You must be the owner of the organization. If you are not the owner, please request the owner to take these steps. You can find the owner's email in the [organization settings](/dashboard/orgs-and-users/organization-overview) page.

  <Step title="Deactivate or transfer all SIMs">
    All SIMs have been permanently deactivated by following the instructions in [this guide](/dashboard/sim-actions/deactivate-sims), or have been transferred to other organizations your account does not own by following [these instructions](/dashboard/sim-actions/transfer-to-organization).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pay any negative balance">
    The organization's balance must be paid and \$0. If the organization has a balance, it must be paid in the [Account page](/dashboard/billing/add-balance) before Hologram can delete the organization. We recommend also turning off auto-refill in the [Account page](/dashboard/billing/auto-refill).

    Gather the [organization ID(s)](/guides/troubleshooting/find-org-id) of the organization(s) you want to delete.

## How to delete an organization

To delete an organization, email [support@hologram.io](mailto:support@hologram.io) ***from the email that owns the organization you want deleted*** filling out the template below.

If active, Hologram will turn off account auto-refill after all SIMs are deactivated.

Once all steps above have been completed Hologram Support will proceed with deleting your organization(s).
