How to change data plans for a single SIM

Find the SIM

Open a SIM from the SIMs pages or using global search.

Open the SIM actions menu

Click the Manage SIM menu at the top right of the SIM’s details page and choose Change data plans.

Select the target data plan

Select the target data plan from the available options.

Set a new data limit (if applicable)

Choose Pause at 10 GB (recommended), Unlimited, a custom amount, or Keep existing data limits. See data limits when changing plans.

Review and confirm

Review pricing changes and confirm the plan change.

How to change data plans in bulk

You can change data plans for up to 10,000 SIMs at a time in your dashboard. If you choose SIMs on different data plans, the plan change and any changes to tags or naming will only be applied to SIMs that are not already on the new plan you choose. SIMs already on the new plan still receive the data usage limit you set. You can only choose data plans available to all SIMs you have selected. Selecting SIMs with different installed profiles may restrict your choice of data plans. The workflow displays each SIM’s SKU and manufactured profile ICCIDs. If a SIM or profile cannot be added to the change, you will see an error that distinguishes SIM-level issues from profile-level issues.

Navigate to the SIMs section

Navigate to the Active SIMs page in the SIMs section in the main menu.

Use filters to find and select the SIMs

Use filters to find and select the SIMs you want to want to change to a new data plan.

Click the Manage SIMs menu

Click the Manage SIMs menu at the top of the page and choose Change data plans.

Choose your new data plan

Choose your new data plan from the available options, then review the plan change details and charges and confirm the plan change.

Review plan rates and coverage

Review the plan rates and coverage for the new data plan. Optional: Set a data usage limit — Pause at 10 GB (recommended), Unlimited, a custom amount, or Keep existing data limits — or a data warning threshold. See data limits when changing plans.

Review tags and naming

Optional. Update name prefixes or tags for SIMs that will be updated.

Review and confirm

Review the plan change details and charges, then confirm the plan change.

Data limits when changing plans

Data usage limits are entered as the SIM’s total limit, including any data included in the new plan. The form pre-fills the SIMs’ existing total limits when it can.
  • Custom amount: Must be more than the new plan’s included data. You cannot set a 0 B limit on data plans that do not include data.
  • Pause at 10 GB: Not available on plans that include 10 GB or more.
  • Unlimited: Removes any existing data usage limit from the selected SIMs.
  • Keep existing data limits: Keeps each SIM’s current total limit. This option is disabled, with an explanation, when the selected SIMs have different limits, when the existing limit isn’t more than the new plan’s included data, or when existing limits couldn’t be looked up.
If a data limit can’t be written to SIMs that are already on the new plan, a notification tells you how many SIMs to update. Set their limits from the SIMs pages using Set data usage limits.
