What does pausing a SIM do?

Pause a SIM’s data usage to temporarily disable all connectivity for your device through the SIM. The SIM will not be able to send or receive SMS, or connect to the internet. This may be useful if you expect a device to be inactive for a period of time and want to ensure you aren’t charged for any data usage. When you pause a SIM’s data usage:
  • The SIM stops passing data.
  • Monthly recurring charges still apply.
  • The SIM remains activated and can be resumed at any time.
Note: SIMs paused by Hologram will show a Paused by system status (PAUSED-SYS state). This most often occurs after running out of funds in your account balance. After you add funds to your account balance, it will automatically resume.
When you resume a SIM’s data usage:
  • The SIM can freely pass data based on its data plan.
  • The SIM remains activated and can be paused at any time.

How to pause or resume a single SIM

  1. Open a SIM from the SIMs pages or using global search.
  2. Click the Manage SIM menu at the top of the page.
  3. Choose Pause data usage or Resume data usage.
  4. Confirm your selection.

How to pause or resume SIMs in bulk

  1. Navigate to the SIMs page in your dashboard.
  2. Use filters to find and select the SIMs you want to modify.
  3. Click the Manage SIMs menu at the top of the list and choose Pause data usage or Resume data usage.
  4. Confirm your selection.
